As the Founder and CEO of ChoiceMD, Vanessa developed a platform that connects individuals to trusted, local healthcare resources, simplifying the process of finding and accessing care. Her work focuses on bridging gaps in the system and empowering people to make informed decisions about their health.
Beyond her work in healthcare, Vanessa has been deeply involved in public service and advocacy. She has served on the Coral Gables Advisory Board on Disability Affairs since 2019 and stepped into the role of Chair during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping guide efforts to support and protect vulnerable members of the community during a critical time.
Her commitment to innovation led to the development of G.U.I.D.E. (Gables Unique Identifier During Emergencies), an initiative created in collaboration with local law enforcement. The program is designed to help first responders safely identify and assist individuals who may wander due to conditions such as Alzheimer’s or autism—reducing the risk of traumatic encounters and improving outcomes for families.
Today, Vanessa continues her impact at the county level as Co-Chair of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Subcommittee under the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Children’s Commission. In this role, she works alongside community leaders and organizations to develop strategies that prevent and mitigate childhood trauma across Miami-Dade County.
She is also an active member of the Life Sciences & Healthcare Committee at the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, contributing to initiatives that support innovation and growth within the healthcare sector. Vanessa previously served as a Board Member of the Advocacy Network on Disabilities, where she supported efforts to advance inclusion and improve systems of care for individuals with disabilities.
Earlier in her career, Vanessa served multiple terms as Chairperson for the National MS Society, leading large-scale community events, building partnerships, and driving fundraising efforts to support those affected by multiple sclerosis.
